The power system is highly nonlinear system, its dynamics depends on system network configuration, system loading… etc. To overcome the above mentioned difficulties and fulfill the performance requirements the different control methods are considered and tested for design of synchronous generator control system. Application of the H optimization method to synchronous generator regulator based on measurement of generator voltage error and active power is studied in this paper. Simulation results obtained under various operating conditions show that the proposed Hinf regulator can provide a better damping of electromechanical oscillations over a wide range of the operating conditions then the standard automatic voltage regulator. Simultaneously it allows achieving results very similar or even better to the automatic voltage regulator and the power system stabilizer. Log in to send the author a request to share.
