Good service. Good Food at the place where Camerata Fiorentina used to gather. Ask for caccini's music. Got there sand it looked empty, the main restaurant tables aren't clearly visible. Well getting down to the food. No starters, We had steak and Oso bucco. Both were fantastic. The meat which was very tender, comes alone so you have to order veg or potatoes, which we did. Then shared a cheesecake. Cheese cake was excellent but the topping of fruits of the forest was really cherries was tinned so not great.
We were given shots limoncello on the house without asking, always a nice touch. The waiters were attentive and talked enough Spanish and English to get us through. A nice experience. We had a great meal at La Buchetta. The plate of Tuscan charcuterie was huge and was easily enough for both of us.
The carbonara was the best I have ever had. My main course of beef casserole was good but could have done with a bit more of a kick. I found it a shame that the atmosphere and decor didn't quite fit with the food. And the wine has very good. Overall a great meal. What a wonderful find. My girlfriend and I just had our last meal in Florence here and sat at the bar with the super kind and friendly owner Maurizio.
We had two pastas and three desserts. I am a huge gnocchi fan and I either love them or hate them and I loved the gnocchi here.
Over a lovely conversation I found out that Maurizio has trained with some of the finest chefs in New York and the world and it shows in the care he takes with his food and his customer service. Florence will be lucky when he opens his next restaurant with live music. We will definitely be back on our next visit. We visited the restaurant in october and ordered two pasta dishes for starter which were ok but nothing special. For main course we had 2 delicious steaks file and florentine.

Camerata Fiorentina - La Buchetta Food & Wine restaurant
The Florentine Camerata , also known as the Camerata de' Bardi , were a group of humanists , musicians, poets and intellectuals in late Renaissance Florence who gathered under the patronage of Count Giovanni de' Bardi to discuss and guide trends in the arts, especially music and drama. In this way it facilitated the composition of dramatic music and the development of opera. The term camerata is entirely a new construct coined by the members of Bardi's circle, although apparently based on the Italian word for "chamber", camera , a term used for a room where important meetings were held. Though they included many of the same luminaries, the rivalry between Corsi and Bardi was fierce and constant. Unifying the Camerata members was the belief that music had become corrupt, and by returning to the forms and style of the ancient Greeks , the art of music could be improved, and thereby society could be improved as well. Prior to the Camerata's inception, there existed a popular sentiment among the Camerata's Renaissance contemporaries that music should mimic the ancient roots of the Greeks. Largely concerned with a revival of the Greek dramatic style, the Camerata's musical experiments led to the development of the stile recitativo.
